About Our Family Programs

Open Works offers ‘pay what you can’ weekend multigenerational and weekday after school ongoing programs at whatever price you’re comfortable with to get your hands making!

Bring the whole family down for a series of ongoing hands-on making classes on Saturdays or for your young people, ages 6-11 for after school options.

Youth Maker Shop: Drones

What do you wanna make?

Youth Shop is a hands-on maker series at Open Works for youth ages 6-11 that wanna learn how to make! Every month this spring come explore music, drones and other maker technologies.

Youth Shop: Drones is a 4-class series this May that explores Drones with Global Air Media! Explore new heights with drones during our weekend family building workshop series!
Through hands-on learning, participants will use math, science, and engineering skills to research, model, build and fly a quadcopter drone. Each family group will be able to take home their drone to practice and showcase their skills. Families are engaged through existing and new programs which incorporate drone-related hardware, software, applications and related technologies. Participants will also get the unique opportunity to learn programming and coding through an interactive app.

Family Shop: Drones is a 3-class series this May that explores Drones with Global Air Media! Explore new heights with drones during our weekend family building workshop series!

Each family group will be able to take home their drone to practice and showcase their skills.
