About Our Family Programs

Open Works offers ‘pay what you can’ weekend multigenerational and weekday after school ongoing programs at whatever price you’re comfortable with to get your hands making!

Bring the whole family down for a series of ongoing hands-on making classes on Saturdays or for your young people, ages 6-11 for after school options.

Children must attend with adults for Family Maker Shop
Ages: 5 and up
Pre-registration encouraged to ensure a spot in the class
Please plan to attend all 3 sessions

Family Maker Shop March: FutureMakers

What do you wanna make?

Family Shop is a hands-on maker series at Open Works for families or multigenerational pairs that wanna learn how to make together! Every month this winter come explore woodworking, sewing, robotics and other maker technologies.

Family Shop: FutureMakers is a 3-class series this March that explores making with electronics, circuits and light! Get confident in your circuitry and learn how ligjt makes color, decode day light and create a glowing light brush!

Youth Maker Shop: After School Programming for Young People

This February join us for 3 weeks in a row to explore sewing with Sewfabulous! Learn to hand stitch, machine sew and make patterns to create projects using fabric!

Family Shop: Sewfabulous is a 3-class series this January that explores building with fabric! Get confident in your hand and machine sewing skills, cut those patterns and leave after the third session with finished sewing projects and the skills and desire to make more!
